Impey's storyline is a bit interesting and deviates from the functioning of the other gentlemen. Giving "wrong" answers during his route will not lead to an immediate game over, but will instead allow the gamer to get continue and get an undesired ending.

Both the good and bad endings will count towards unlocking Lupin's route. 

For those who want the "good" ending with Impey, here are the following answers needed:

The bad ending in this game just means Impey sacrifices himself to ensure Cardia can get off the Nautilus. He disappears, and Cardia decides to continue his research in his stead as a way to honor him. 

Since Impey has two possible endings it will be interesting to see how the sequel available March 30, 2018 decides to handle this.
